My two careers have more in common than you might think: starting with the podium and the welcome. 

Both métiers require the ability to read a room, plan the day in advance, go micro on the details while keeping the big picture in view, stick to tight time constraints, anticipate the needs of the students/guests,  and graciously roll with surprises.

Hamlet on Hospitality: 

Use every man after his desert and who shall ’scape whipping? Use them after your own honor and dignity. The less they deserve, the more merit is in your bounty.
